Uses

Fruits, green leaves and flower buds are eaten as vegetables. An edible oil can be extracted from its seeds. The oil can be fed to rabbits and catfish as shell food, or it can also be used as fertilizer. The use of Dhundhun Chhobra for body scrubbing is probably very ancient in Bengali bath cosmetics. Chobra is made by drying the ripe fruits. The vascular bundles (vascular bundles) in it, especially for the fibrous xylem fibers, are slightly rough (but not too hard, so suitable as cosmetics).
